Gallery2 Upgrade Error “Unable to selectAdminUser for core upgrade”
I use Gallery2 for the backend service of photos. It works rather well, despite a few quirks. But none of these issues are nearly as bad as something in the world of a closed-source vendor.
I recently tried to upgrade the Gallery software and found this nasty error in the logs right around when I was trying to push the big red ‘Upgrade’ button:
...Unable to selectAdminUser for core upgrade...
Hopefully if you are reading this, it is because you found this page on a web search and are grasping for some answers. I’m not saying I have all of them, but this is the process I used to figure things out.

The Canon EF85mm f1.2L Mark II Lens
This and the EF 35mm f1.4L are my favorite lenses. If I had to choose only two lenses to use, it would be those two.
If you’re reading this you most likely stumbled here because of a Google search or something similar, and are looking for sample shots or a review. Welcome! Glad to have you here. I hope this post helps your decision making process. I’m not going to list the good and the bad like a typical review, because certain ‘bad’ things are actually ‘good’ the way things panned out.

Village Pet Store & Charcoal Grill
I stumbled into this today, and it was a complete sensory treat.
This is definitely something I’ve had dreams about before, a pet store filled with hot dogs, sausages, fishnuggets, bunnies, chicken nuggets, deli meats, plastic plants, and other goodies.
Okay, perhaps I did not dream about the masturbating monkey, or the aged Tweety bird, or the CCTV nest, but perhaps it’s better that way that I didn’t.

Super Peanut – A Nitro Conversion Tamiya TLT-1
Shown here is the stock, electric-powered version of the Tamiya TLT-1 truck ‘Rock Buster’.
Construction updates can also be seen here at the full construction thread on scale4x4rc.us.
Overview
This project sort of started by accident. I was bored, waiting for raw materials for something else and decided to use what i had lying around.
What started off as a stock Tamiya Rock Buster TLT-1 1/18th scale electric monster truck is shaping up into an interesting, compact nitro-powered machine.

My Take on the Honda Cog Commercial
My take on the Honda Cog commercial.
Made on a Palm Tungsten T.
Isn’t this incredibly STUPID? For some reason people think it is funny. I must be deranged. In either case there is nothing much here yet. I have been making silly animations on handheld devices during meetings and the occasional commute.

My Domokun Suit
This wasn’t photoshopped!
But Fark and i have a feeling SA photoshoppers are going to have a field day when they see this.
So this was my amateur attempt at building a costume. I had only two days to do it, and it actually came out reasonably well. I am satisfied with it and the basic design was durable, comfortable, and actually quite satisfactory in appearance.

Tiamat 6WD/6WS
This is Tiamat, a six wheel drive, six wheel steering monster mutant truck.
It is based on the Tamiya Clod Buster platform, and originally started out as two trucks.
I built this truck in the fall of 2001, and it has been periodically upgraded ever since.
Lineage
Based on the timeless Tamiya Clod Buster monster truck kit which was incredibly popular when first released in 1988 and is still sold today (albeit as the ‘Super’ Clod Buster)
Powerplant
The truck is powered by three Hacker C50L brushless electric motors. They are more powerful and efficient compared to their more commonly available brushed motor counterparts.

The Mac PC
This is the home of the Macintosh PC. It is basically an old Mac Classic case with the CRT ripped out and PC motherboard plus a 10.4″ LCD flatpanel put inside it. Some pictures are shown below. Images open in a new window.
